Works With Your Original Prusa® XL Enclosure to XL+ Enclosure Upgrade

Enclosure Upgrade Kit

XL Enclosure → XL+ Enclosure Upgrade Kit

Better sealing, a hotter chamber, fewer failed large parts.

An easy-to-assemble kit that converts an existing Enclosure for Original Prusa XL into an Enclosure for Prusa XL+. The improvement is sealing: the XL+ Enclosure holds roughly 50 °C in the chamber from the XL+ heatbed alone, with no active heater. That is the temperature range where ASA, ABS, PC, PA and PCCF stop lifting their corners on big parts.

Preorder — expected to ship End of October. Order now to hold your place in line.

Requires a Prusa XL+

The Enclosure for Prusa XL+ runs a hotter chamber, so the printer inside it must have the XL+ high-temperature PC/PCCF plastic parts. If your machine is still a standard XL, add the XL to XL+ Upgrade as well. The original XL Enclosure remains fully usable on an XL+ — it simply will not reach ~50 °C.

What It Does
Enclosure installed on a Prusa XL, rear three-quarter view
Chamber heat

Sealing that holds the heat in

Improved sealing maximises heating efficiency, so the chamber reaches about 50 °C from the heatbed alone. On large parts, that warm air is what keeps the corners down — especially with ASA, ABS, PC, Nylon and PCCF. The upcoming external heater add-on takes the same chamber to 60 °C.

Air quality

Filtration that runs with the print

The Advanced Filtration System draws air from inside the chamber and pushes it through a HEPA filter at 99.9% efficiency, cutting odours and ultra-fine particles when printing ABS, ASA, PA and similar materials. Filtration is controlled from the printer menu, including post-print run time.

Low-temperature materials

Fold the bellows for cooler air

Some materials prefer cooler air. The magnetic bellows cover folds open for better airflow when you print PLA or PETG — no swinging doors eating up floor space, and full access to the whole bed. Seal it up again when the next job needs the heat.

Control

Runs from the printer's touchscreen

The enclosure connects to the XL+ mainboard. From the touchscreen you set filtration performance, check HEPA filter life, control the LED strips and read the chamber temperature. An extra LED strip syncs with the printer for print-area lighting and status indication.

Large part printing inside the XL Enclosure

Why a warmer chamber matters. Warping on technical filaments is mostly thermal shock — hot plastic meeting cold room air. A stable, warmer chamber flattens that gradient. The result is fewer failed large prints, less residual stress in finished parts, and much easier printing of the materials that refuse to behave on an unenclosed machine.

Who It's For
  • You already own the Enclosure for Original Prusa XL and have upgraded (or are upgrading) the printer to XL+.
  • You print large engineering parts in ASA, ABS, PC, PA or PCCF and are losing jobs to warping.
  • The printer lives in an office, classroom or shared workshop where fumes and ultra-fine particles matter.
  • You want to be ready for the external chamber heater add-on when it arrives.
