Procurement

Purchase orders and quotes

Schools do not buy the way consumers do. Send us the requisition and we will work to your paperwork, not ours.

  • We accept school and district purchase orders.
  • W-9 on request — ask your rep and it comes back the same day.
  • Safety data sheets on request — ask your rep for the materials on the order.
  • Tax-exempt orders are handled by sales, not by the checkout. Send your exemption certificate and we will set the order up correctly.
  • Formal quotes for budget submissions, valid for 30 days.
  • Flexible payment terms
Teaching

Curriculum & support

The software students need is free and the models are already out there. What we add is the setup and the person who picks up the phone.

The build is the project
Assembling a kit is the unit: mechanics, electronics, wiring, calibration and troubleshooting, ending with a working machine the class keeps using.
Calibration and troubleshooting
First layer, belt tension, extrusion. What goes wrong on a printer is measurable, so students can diagnose it instead of waiting for a technician.
PrusaSlicer
Free, open source, runs on school laptops. One slicer across every machine in this page.
Printables
A large free model library for first prints, class projects and spare bench tooling.
Print profiles
Tested profiles for Jessie Premium so a student’s first print is not a calibration exercise.
Repair documentation
Every repair is documented and every part is orderable, so a broken printer is a lesson, not a write-off.
Filament

Jessie Premium for classrooms

Our own filament, made for rooms that go through a lot of it. PLA is the material most classrooms standardize on: it prints without a heated chamber and it does not need an enclosure to behave.

  • Two spools ship free — order in pairs and shipping is on us.
  • 1 kg spools only. One size to reorder, one size to store.
  • School colors? The custom color program starts at 50 spools, 3–4 weeks.

Education

How UCalgary runs a 70-plus printer fleet for 3,000 students a year

Nine years of growth from 20 printers to a campus fleet. The Schulich Makerspace at the University of Calgary started in 2017 with 20 previous-generation Prusa printers and now runs more than 70, plus four multi-tool XLs in the main space and further machines in specialist labs across campus.

About 3,000 engineering students a year use them, close to half the program, and students join the print queue by completing a short online course rather than by waiting on staff time.
