Check your Dwarf board serial number before ordering
If your Dwarf toolhead board is marked 07 or lower, it must be replaced with a new one before this upgrade can be installed. Dwarf boards marked 08 or higher are compatible with this upgrade as supplied. Early XL units are the ones most likely to be affected.
Replacement boards are not physically packed in this kit — you add them yourself, at cost. Put Original Prusa Dwarf board XL in your cart alongside this upgrade and the price drops automatically to $20.00 per board (normally $61.09). No code, no email needed.
The discounted price covers up to one board per tool head you are upgrading — 1 board on the 1 tool head kit, 2 on the 2 tool head kit, 5 on the 5 tool head kit. Any boards beyond that ring up at the regular price. Only replace the boards marked 07 or lower; leave compatible boards alone.

Each kit contains one set of toolhead parts (CHT nozzle, print fan, plastics, wiper hardware) per tool head. Choose the version that matches the number of tool heads fitted to your XL — the shared parts (belts, XLBuddy cooling, tool offset sensor, heatbed electronics fan) are the same in every version.

What's New in the XL+
Calibration
Automatic tool offset calibration
The XL aligned its toolheads against a mechanical pin — accurate, but slow. The XL+ uses a dedicated electronic sensor and does it fully automatically: roughly twenty times faster, and more precise than before.
Surface quality
Smoother-looking surfaces
New GT1.5 belts make unwanted repeating patterns finer and harder to notice — which matters a great deal on the large, smooth surfaces an XL is usually bought to print.
First layer
A nozzle wiper
At the start of every print, every nozzle is cleaned by the wiper. More precise pre-print calibration and better-looking prints, with no blobs dragged into the first layer.
Thermals
Improved cooling in every aspect
Print cooling on par with the MK4S and CORE One, plus reworked cooling of the printer's critical electronics — XLBuddy fan and heatsink, and a heatbed electronics fan. Better overhangs, fewer supports, and reliable operation during long runs in demanding conditions.
Materials
Tougher, better plastic parts
The redesigned plastic components are printed in PC and PCCF to withstand the elevated temperatures inside an enclosure. This is also why the XL+ upgrade is a prerequisite for the higher-temperature XL+ Enclosure.
The Everyday Difference
On a 60-hour prop print, a 10–15% speed gain is roughly eight hours back — one more evening in the workshop, or one more batch per day in production. Every firmware feature shipped across the Prusa lineup since the XL launched is included out of the box.
