PETG Tungsten 75%
A PETG heavily filled with tungsten — 75% by weight — for printing complex X-ray and gamma-ray shielding parts. Non-toxic and hypoallergenic, a workable alternative to lead.
Shielding you can print
Prusament PETG Tungsten 75% is a highly specialized filament designed mainly for radiation shielding. The tungsten powder inside the PETG is a heavy metal that doesn’t react with water and resists oxidation at room temperature — and unlike lead, tungsten is hypoallergenic and non-toxic.
That makes it suitable for creating complex X-ray and gamma-ray shielding components — not only for medical work — in an easier, faster way than conventional machining or casting. It prints with a metallic gray finish and can be polished like other metal-filled materials.
Made in-house by Prusa Research to a guaranteed ±0.03 mm diameter tolerance.

The numbers Prusa publishes
Radiation attenuation depends on the isotope and photon energy. These are the values Prusa reports for this material — use them as a starting point, not a substitute for validating shielding in your own configuration.
Industries & applications
Aimed at the whole radiation-shielding industry — anywhere custom, complex shielding geometry is faster to print than to machine.
Medical imaging & radiology
Custom X-ray and gamma shielding components. Non-toxic, hypoallergenic tungsten is a friendlier material to handle than lead in clinical settings.
Nuclear & energy
Bespoke shielding and fixtures for the nuclear-energy industry where complex geometry and quick turnaround matter.
Lab, NDT & imaging devices
Non-destructive testing, X-ray imaging equipment and lab shielding parts — and aerospace radiation-shielding use cases.
Prints on a desktop Prusa — with a hardened nozzle
Tungsten powder is highly abrasive, so a hardened steel nozzle is mandatory. Otherwise it prints at approachable temperatures on a textured or satin sheet; printing profiles for MK4 and XL are provided by Prusa.
Printer, hardened nozzle, material — validated together
Tungsten powder is highly abrasive, so a hardened nozzle is mandatory, not optional — brass will wear out of tolerance fast. Beyond that it prints at approachable temperatures: nozzle 260 ±10 °C, heatbed 80 ±10 °C. Prusa publishes tungsten profiles for the MK4 and XL; on other Prusa machines our team will help you set one up.

Original Prusa CORE One L+
At 260 ±10 °C nozzle and 80 ±10 °C bed, tungsten sits well inside the L+’s 290 °C / 120 °C envelope. Enclosed, it carries the heavier 4 g/cm³ spool without modification, and it ships with an abrasive-resistant nozzle in the box. Available to pre-order.

Original Prusa Hardened Nozzle
At 75% tungsten by weight this is among the most abrasive filaments Prusa makes, so keep a spare hardened nozzle on the shelf. Nickel plating aids heat transfer and is rated to 300 °C — comfortably above this material’s 260 ±10 °C target.
