Prusament PETG

Filament You Can Actually Rely On

Why To Choose Prusament

Prusament is a premium-grade material made by the same people who build the 3D printers.

Guaranteed Color Consistency

Every Prusament color is formulated and locked to a documented spectroscopic recipe. We test every batch against the standard before it ships. If you run out mid-project, the next spool will match perfectly.

±0.02 mm Precision

We measure and record diameter and ovality continuously across the full length of every single spool, and we openly publish the actual data for tracking accuracy.

High Quality Verification

Every spool comes with a barcode to check its exact metrics online: diameter readings along the entire length, precise weight, and ovality parameters.

Perfect Winding Control

Wound under perfectly balanced tension on precision automation machinery. Avoids overlaps or knots, guaranteeing an even feed from start to finish.

Made in Delaware, USA

This select filament is manufactured directly by Printed Solid in Newark, Delaware. By using the exact same machinery, resin, colorants, spools, and processes as our Prague factory, we guarantee the identical ±0.02 mm precision (±0.03 mm for blends) and premium performance you expect from Prusament.

About PETG Material

PETG is the easiest technical material to print with

PETG is one of the most popular materials when it comes to rapid prototyping and printing cheap, yet functional mechanical components. This material offers fast and reliable printing with little warping and decent detail. Such parameters are valued among both beginners and professionals, as they make their work as easy as possible.

PETG Prototypes and Components

Durable material

PETG is durable in thick layers and bendable in thin layers. It slightly bends and deforms upon impact instead of breaking. Compared to PLA, PETG offers better impact resistance, layer-to-layer adhesion, and high-temperature resistance. Such parameters are useful for making functional components of working machines, such as parts of this e-bike.

Durable PETG Functional Components

Print in all sizes

The Prusament PETG has low shrinkage, which makes it possible to print large objects with little to no warping. This is especially useful for printing huge models glued from multiple parts. We use it for most of our extra-large projects, such as this life-sized Triceratops skull!

Visual Finish Variations

Large color palette

PETG is the most frequently used technical material in the 3D printing industry for its easy printability and good mechanical resistance. And we believe that mechanical and visual properties are equally important. For this reason, we offer a wide range of vivid and subtle Prusament PETG colors to suit most projects.

Tips & Tricks For Beginners

Everything you need to know before printing:

PETG is the best technical material to start with

PETG is almost as easy-to-print as PLA. It doesn't require extra surface preparations, storing in the drybox, or using special sheet and nozzle. The overall easy printability makes it suitable for beginners and advanced users alike.

Before printing, make sure the print sheet is clean.

To achieve the best adhesion, it is important to keep the surface clean. The best option is Isopropyl alcohol available in drugstores, which works the best for PETG and other materials as well. Pour a little amount on an unscented paper towel and wipe the print surface. The print sheet should be cleaned while cold for the best results.

Use a glue stick when printing on smooth PEI sheet

PETG has strong adhesion to the smooth PEI surface. Printing directly on it may damage the sheet.

Drying may improve the print quality, especially when stored in wet conditions.

PETG is less hygroscopic than most materials, so drying is not usually necessary. However, if you notice stringing, bubbling, or surface roughness, drying at 55 °C for 6 hours will usually resolve it.

Use superglue for gluing large models

PETG can be glued with many types of glue. We recommend using superglue for most of the parts. Chemical bonding is usually difficult, as PETG is soluble in dangerous chemicals only.
