Prusament PETG Recycled (2kg Spool)

Filament You Can Actually Rely On

Why To Choose Prusament

Prusament is a premium-grade material made by the same people who build the 3D printers. For this recycled edition, 100% of the material consists of shredded Prusament PETG filaments that didn’t pass our strict visual control.

Unique Batch Colors

Because this filament is strictly made from recycled waste material from our standard extrusion lines, there are no further additives or pigments. Every batch has a completely unique color!

±0.05 mm Precision

Even with recycled material, we maintain tight manufacturing standards. Our 1.75 mm recycled filament is manufactured with a strict precision of ± 0.05 mm.

High Quality Verification

With every spool, you have the unique option to inspect its manufacturing parameters yourself. Scan a QR code on the spool to see all details online.

Perfect Winding Control

Wound under perfectly balanced tension on precision automation machinery. Avoids overlaps or knots, guaranteeing an even feed from start to finish.

Manufactured In-House By Josef Prusa

We were not satisfied with the quality of filaments on the market, so we decided to make our own! Prusa Research is the only 3D printer manufacturer with its own filament production directly in our Prague (Czech Republic) facilities. The entire process is closely monitored to make sure that every spool is perfect.

Eco-Friendly Initiative

Sustainability & Calculated Carbon Footprint

For our recycled filaments, we had our carbon footprint calculated to ensure true environmental impact tracking. You can find more details about all of our green initiatives in our comprehensive sustainability report.

About PETG Recycled Material

A versatile and tough workhorse

Prusament PETG Recycled is our own in-house filament. Due to its excellent layer-to-layer adhesion, PETG prints are ideal for indoor and outdoor waterproof applications. Furthermore, PETG is a tough material with good high-temperature resistance.

The G in the acronym stands for a glycol-modified substance that is present during the manufacturing process. It modifies the properties of PET, so that it’s easier to print, less brittle, and clearer when printing with semi-transparent variants.

PETG Recycled Spool

Print in all sizes with minimal warping

PETG has a low thermal expansion, so even when printing big objects without an enclosure, it rarely lifts from the bed and warps. In addition to that, PETG has a healthy amount of flex which can prevent parts from breaking under pressure. We even use PETG to print the structural parts for our own 3D printers!

Tips & Tricks For Beginners

Everything you need to know before printing:

⚠️ 2kg Spool Holder Required

This massive 2kg spool won't fit the standard 3D printer spool holder. Please download and print the 2kg spoolholder here before using.

Counteracting stringing and oozing

Unlike PLA or ABS, PETG tends to ooze a bit and may leave strings of plastic on your print. If stringing occurs, you may counter it by increasing retraction and playing with hotend temperature. Or, you can get rid of the strings by briefly blasting your finished prints with a heat gun.

Use our PrusaSlicer presets

To avoid stringing entirely, we highly recommend using our tuned filament presets in PrusaSlicer. We already did the heavy lifting for you, and the amount of stringing should be absolutely minimal right out of the box.

Drying may improve the print quality

We suggest drying the filament before printing if it has been left out in a humid environment. Drying at 55 °C for 6 hours will usually resolve any bubbling or moisture issues. Please follow the instructions in our dedicated drying article.
