colorFabb XT 3D Printing Filament

Looking for a strong tough filament that can be used to print parts that are used in demanding real world applications?  Youve found it.

XT takes some of the best properties of popular materials like PLA and ABS then combines and improves them.  Unlike materials that have become popular in 3D printing because they happen to work *OK* as a printing material, this was formulated specifically for the unique needs of desktop 3D printing machines.  Lower coefficient of thermal expansion gives less warpage than ABS and Nylon, but the higher melt strength and higher glass transition temperature gives better bridging and heat tolerance than PLA.

ColorFabb XT filament is produced from Amphora 3D Polymer by Eastman Chemical Company.

In 2013 Eastman and Helian Polymers entered a joint development program in order to develop a new unique 3D Printing material for Desktop 3D Printing.
Many formulations of specialty polyesters have been tested for functionality, printability and safe printing.

All these efforts have lead to a unique formulation for 3D Printing that features excellent properties : High strength and very high toughness, Odor Neutral processing, High Tg / improved temp. resistance, Styrene free formulation, FDA food contact compliance, BPA (Bisphenol A ) free formulation.

Amphora 3D Polymer will allow the user to produce 3D printed functional products in a safe way.
We are proud that ColorFabb XT is the first filament in the market to be produced with Amphora 3D Polymer, and now is available in a variety of colors.   Clear version is available here.

Printing conditions:

Advised 3D printing temperature:
240-260C - Varies by hot end type.  If infill is breaking apart, you will need to decrease speed or increase temperature.

Advised 3D print speed:
40 - 70 mm/s - Varies by hot end type.  If infill is breaking apart, you will need to decrease speed or increase temperature.

Advised Heated bed:
60-80C

Build platform:
For colorFabb_XT we advice to print on a heated bed. After printing, the build plate needs to cool down to about 20-30 C at which point you can remove the printed part.

Some users with Borosilicate Glass beds have reported taking chips out of the bed with copolyesters.  Here is a solution to consider if that happens to you.

Information:

Each spool contains a minimum of 750g filament neatly wound onto a large diameter spool.   The spools are shrinkwrapped, boxed, and then shrinkwrapped again.
