At Printed Solid, we like to think of ASA as ABS with a purpose. It exhibits many similar mechanical properties, but has the benefit of UV stabilizers so it is a great choice, probably the best choice, for parts with prolonged outdoor use.
If you've printed with ABS, you'll recognize the experience. Like ABS, ASA benefits from a warm printing environment. Enclosure, warm bed, no parts cooling fan. We like using PEI sheet for best adhesion.
This material can be solvent welded or smoothed with acetone and has a use temperature up above around 90C.

ASA (Acrylonitirle Styrene Acrylate) 3D Printing Filament
ASA filament made from premium UV-resistant resin
Printed parts made from this material offer exceptional UV-stability making it a great choice for outdoor applications
-Manufactured in the USA using premium ASA resin. This material is a great substitute for normal ABS when resistance to outdoor exposure is needed.
-Manufactured from 100% virgin resin and then spooled onto 750 gram reels, the filament is then vacuum-sealed with desiccant.
-Made in 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters, this filament will convert anyone who prints with normal ABS!
